Crispy Sweet and Salty French Toast

Today is a french toast kind of Sunday. I woke up and just had the hankering for french toast. That and the fact that I had an excessive amount of several-days-old bread in the from of loaf and hamburger buns staring at me in the face. Both were getting too dry for as-is use so I had to do something with them and french toast is one of the best ways to use up stale bread.

Cocoa Swirled Banana Bread

Stir Fry Glass Noodle (Sotanghon)

I just love Asian style noodles. Whether it's stir fried, crispy, noodles in soup, chow mein, yakisoba, pancit, or in this case sotanghon, I can eat them anytime, any day. Sotanghon is a Filipino dish whose name originated from the Chinese word "tanghoon," meaning glass noodle. Thanks Veggie Girl for enlightening me on its meaning. I find this to be a very versatile dish, in that you can eat it any time of the day. You can serve it for lunch, dinner, and even for an afternoon affair, which I call an in-betweener, and any leftovers will work as a hearty breakfast the following day. Yes, I've had it for breakfast and I enjoyed it with tea and Sweet Hawaiian dinner rolls. Ah! It's just yummy. I hope you enjoy my take on this dish.

Fresh & Easy Green Chile Sourdough French Toast

If you've read my homage post to Fresh and Easy's Green Chile Sourdough Loaf, you'll know that I stopped buying plain ole' white or wheat bread since we discovered this bread. One day, however, I woke up craving some french toast and of course, I didn't have regular bread so I decided to use the green chile sourdough bread instead.

Fresh & Easy Chile Sourdough Bread (An homage + a sandwich tutorial)

Today is my Fresh & Easy's Chile Sourdough Bread Appreciation Day. Actually, every day is a day like that because this particular bread is a mainstay of our diet but today I pay it some homage with this humble blog post.
