Cheesy Bacon & Garlic Dog Treats

It's another doggie biscuit making Saturday. The last of the peanut butter doggie biscuits that I made a couple of weeks ago just got polished off so I needed to replenish the treat box. Now that I'm getting into the groove of baking dog treats at home, I don't think I'd be buying them from the pet store again. Not only are homemade dog treats inexpensive to make but they are also all natural and can be made fresh on an as-needed basis.

Quick & Easy Nachos

Ok, I needed to make something quick for tonight's dinner, if you can call it that.  Tonight was Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals, L.A. Kings vs. New Jersey Devils.  The game started at 5:00 p.m. so I needed to make something easy to eat in front of the TV.  If you watched the game, then you know there will be a Game 5 on Saturday.....hmmmm....now I need to think of what to make for that game.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich With a Twist

Veggie Girl recently informed me of National Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day here in the US.  Although that was two weeks ago on April 12, I thought I'd post a simple grilled cheese recipe here, as it is just one of those comfort foods we can have any time of the day.

Ham & Cheese Croissant-wich

I rented the movie Hugo the other night.  Since the movie was set in early 20th century Paris, I decided to make a croissant sandwich, as I would like to talk about the movie.

Patty Melt Night

With my parents on their weeklong Mexican cruise, we're back to being on our own for dinner again. When asked what they wanted for dinner, the kids said they wanted something "non-Asian" since, as my son put it, "when Grandma gets back, we'll be eating lots of Chinese food again." He felt that we had better get our fill of American food because once my parents get back from their cruise, it'll be Chinese food for another two weeks straight until their departure. He had a point, so I obliged.

Eggplant Parmesan

First of all, I hope all the moms out there had a great Mother's Day! I had a lovely weekend myself starting with a little shindig at Gingham Girl's house. She and her hubby hosted a dinner party on Saturday to watch the Pacquiao v. Mosley boxing match. Even though the fight was greatly disappointing, GG's food was not. That girl cooked up a storm in the form of a mini buffet that fed 12 people, all on her own. Very impressive! I then enjoyed a very lazy Sunday, just how I like it. :)

Wine & Cheese

Water, juice, and milk --- that's what you"ll find in my fridge. If I have wine, it's because I use it for cooking, or because friends have given it to us. Don't get me wrong, I drink it on occasions and when I make seafood pasta. It's just not something I'd always ask for when I go to a restaurant or a party. Needless to say, my hubby and I are somewhat wine challenged, so forgive me if this post might be too plain for you. But for those who are also challenged like us, I guess this is a good starting point. So, here's a "cheesy" attempt at a classic pairing.
