Fried Rice Noodle with Ground Pork

OK, I'll admit it. I'm a little bit addicted to sewing at the moment. Although I don't always have the time to sew something, I'm constantly thinking about my next project. As you can tell, this blog has become somewhat of a "show and tell" stage for both mine and GG's sewing projects and if this keeps up, I'm going to have to add SEWING to the blog header somewhere. But for now, food still remains as its primary focus.

Korean Shrimp Rice Porridge (Saewoojuk)

I recently jumped on the internet TV bandwagon and finally bought a Roku after having considered it for months. This has enabled me to stream lots of shows from Hulu and one of the first shows I watched was the Korean drama, Boys Over Flowers

Good Friday Soup

Today is Good Friday here in the US, and for most Catholics, it's our last day of fasting, and abstinence from meat during the season of Lent.  Here's a quick and delicious way to fulfill those religious duties.

Shrimp Scampi

Ok, I'm gonnna make this quick.  It's the season premier of Dancing with the Stars, that's why.  Yeah, truth be known, I'm a fan of DWS.  So, I'm gonna get on with the recipe.  It's also easy to make by the way. -GG-

Mock Paella

Most of us have had the feeling when days are just zipping by us.  Well this week was such.  I don’t know where the days had gone…I guess I was busy getting creative….hahaha.  In my previous post I mentioned that I had a small DIY (Do It Yourself) project in the house.  Well, I got inspired and moved on to the other area of the house.  The area where I am sitting right now typing this blog.  The area I call the office.

Shrimp Pasta

I’ve been away again…not on vacation though.  I’ve been busy with some DIY (Do-it-Yourself) projects around the house.  I’m not gonna bore you with what they are specifically.  They were just tiring to say the least that I have not had the chance to cook….I know….again…for a few days.  I had enough of fast food that even though my muscles are still ache-y from my projects, I just had to cook.

Chicken & Shrimp Pad Thai

I used to order Pad Thai at every Thai restaurant I went to because I really love this dish. In doing so, let me tell you, I've tasted some very bad Pad Thai. Some Thai restaurants think they should alter the recipe to cater to American tastebuds so they use ketchup or peanut butter (gasp!) in the sauce. I've had my fair share of gooey noodles sitting in some very sweet bright orange sauce. For someone who's never had Pad Thai, it might not taste half bad but I know the difference. It just won't do.

Yang Chow Fried Rice

Like probably most kids, I was picky with the type of “adult” food I ate when I was a kid. There were only certain foods I ate, and when I don’t like what’s on our dinner table, my default food was fried egg over rice. At restaurants, particularly Chinese restaurants, my default food was corn soup and fried rice. I liked corn soup because I just love the sweet flavor of corn. And I love fried rice because it is rice and viand all in one. My mom did not have to force me to eat “adult” food as long as I ate my soup and fried rice.

Shrimp Salad with Asian Lime Dressing

Strange as it may sound, I enjoy folding laundry. I try to think of it as relaxation time where I can plop myself down on the couch with my baskets of laundry, turn on the TV, put on a good show and...relax (yes, I know my hands are still working but folding laundry is so mindless to me, it's as if I'm not even doing it).
