Steamed Chocolate Chip Tofu Cake (rice cooker recipe)
Yes, I know what you're thinking. Tofu in cake? I've actually had tofu bread before and I really liked it so when I came across a recipe for tofu cake, I just had to make it. This all started with a mean cake craving that I've had all week and wouldn't go away. It didn't help that every time I used my rice cooker, I would see the "Cake" setting so I thought, why not finally make cake in my rice cooker? I'm a total novice in using my rice cooker for cake so I went searching for a recipe online.

Veggie & Tofu Lettuce Wraps

Hello again! This blog has officially made a come back. The last time we had a post here was sometime towards the end of last year and it's hard to believe several months have already gone by and we're now in the new year! Well, seeing as how it's a new year, what better time to tackle our resolutions than now? A big one of mine is to lose some weight and drop some pounds which I've accumulated over the years. Apparently GG also has the same goal so we're planning to refocus the content on this blog on healthy eating and weight loss management.

Stir Fry Veggies
For all you veggie lovers out there, here's something quick and easy for you. And if you're a lazy cook as well, this one's for you. I had a Veggie craving the other day while I was at the supermarket. I wasn't shopping for veggies that day, but when I passed the produce isle, I immediately had a craving for some veggies. -GG-

Shabu-Shabu (Japanese Style)
I learned how to make this from my mother in law. Basically, no measurements, just add everything to the pot. It's almost fool proof.

"Srirachup" Tofu and Eggplant Sauté

Is it me or does time go by faster now? This summer has literally just zipped by me, so quickly that it hardly feels like I've experienced even a portion of it. It might be because I didn't do much this summer, as opposed to last year where I went back to Singapore with the kids for a relaxing holiday.

Braised Tofu
I don’t know what possessed me to cook three different things tonight. For one, it’s hot in Southern California, it must have been in the low 90’s today, actually it’s been hot for a week, and yet I got inspired to flex my cooking muscles again.

Spicy Green Beans & Tofu Stir Fry
Stir fried green beans are, hands down, one of my favorite dishes to order at a Chinese restaurant. If it's on the menu, it'll be on my tab. However, when I first tried to make them at home, my green beans didn't quite turn out the same. The green beans at the restaurant had a wrinkly exterior but a crunchy interior which was what I loved about them but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get my green beans to turn out the same way. My homemade version tasted pretty good too but they just didn't have the same wrinkly texture.

Chicken & Shrimp Pad Thai
I used to order Pad Thai at every Thai restaurant I went to because I really love this dish. In doing so, let me tell you, I've tasted some very bad Pad Thai. Some Thai restaurants think they should alter the recipe to cater to American tastebuds so they use ketchup or peanut butter (gasp!) in the sauce. I've had my fair share of gooey noodles sitting in some very sweet bright orange sauce. For someone who's never had Pad Thai, it might not taste half bad but I know the difference. It just won't do.

Steamed Tofu with Ground Pork
While browsing other food blogs the other day, I chanced upon a great blog from Malaysia. I happened to find a tofu dish in his blog, and being the typical me, I just read it quickly and did not write down his recipe. A day later I found myself cooking tofu inspired by deliciousasianfood.com. So here's my own take on it.

Summer Tofu
This dish is so simple and it doesn't really have a name. But because it's so refreshing (since you eat the tofu cold) and bursting with flavor, I thought I'd call it Summer Tofu. While it's not even warm yet, I just had a craving for this today. It's a quick and healthy lunch.
