My First Dress

Like I said in my previous post, Veggie Girl and I recently started sewing.  While we have not yet learned how to make a dress in class, I ventured out and decided to follow a sewing pattern on my own.

For somebody who has never sewn before, this was like building the Titanic for me.  I got the pattern at Wal-Mart for about $3, and off I went on my epic sewing adventure.  It was a learning experience I must tell you.  I must have done more un-stitching than stitching.  While the dress has some imperfections, I still pat myself on the back for completing it.  And of course, a big thank you to Veggie Girl for snapping the beautiful photos.

For my dress, I chose pattern B on the package.  It's the blue one with the cap sleeves.

I picked 100% cotton fabric for this dress.

Frames: Salvatore Ferragamo,
Necklace: from a shopping trip in the Philippines,
Bangle:  gifted by a friend.
This dress is so comfortable.  I can move freely in it.
Shoes:  Chinese Laundry platform patent leather, 4-3/4 inch heels.
Sun Hat:  Target
A cute, fun, and comfortable dress I can wear running around
doing errands. -GG-
